Day 3 Start Jupiter Beach

Today's start this morning went on without a hitch. Each boat made it over the surf with ease. Jamie Livingston pushed Royal Orange while Corey Page pushed Royal White. It is expected to be a decent day although the distance of today's leg is nearly twice that of yesterday's in similar conditions. The sailors have estimated arriving to Cocoa Beach around 4:00 at the very earliest and probably more between 6:00 and 8:00 tonight.

Todd Hart shared with me that on this leg a couple years ago he got hypothermia on the boat which, he explained, was not very pleasant, so all our boys were sporting dry suits this morning. Hopefully they all stay warm. Also, this morning, Royal Blue was awarded full redress for the time it took to fix their boat after the collision (that wasn't our fault) by race officials. They're back in the game. Looking sharp, and ready for action, all our sailors seemed to have had a great start.

As I'm writing this from our motorhome, I just received a call from our Boat Guy (Chris Runge,) who is driving up and following our boats up the beach. He just saw Yellow and Orange pass by North Hutchinson beach, chutes up and looking good.

Pictures from this morning's start.
