Day 4 Start Daytona Beach

There's nothing quite like waking up to the smell of Ammens powder in the morning. What on earth could be better? So, another early start for ground crew and sailors, and we're off to Daytona Beach. Seacats White announced their withdrawal from the race at the skipper's meeting this morning.

Again, another easy start for the sailors with no visible flips or mistakes. Everyone had a good push and a paddle to make it through the surf... maybe they should hold on to those because today looks pretty slow. The boats are estimated to land around 5 or 6 during this 85 mile leg. So... hope and pray we see colors on the horizon (of our Royal Spectrum.)

Also there's a shuttle on the pad ready to launch from the Kennedy Space Center, which our boys have to sail around. Security is super tight, so they all have to stay really far out from the cape. Because of course a bunch of 20 foot Catamarans are a huge threat to NASA's security.

Pictures from the start!!
