Jason Childers grew up in central and coastal Maine, but has lived in Florida off and on since he was 12. Jason has worked on the water as a mate, sailing instructor, and captain for over a decade and currently works as the assistant sailing master at the Saint Petersburg sailing center. During this time, he has enjoyed competing in catamaran regattas all over Florida. He participated in the Tybee in 2008, but his team was unable to finish the last leg. He intends on finishing this year.
Jason attended College of the Atlantic (Class of ’06) and has a B.A. in Human Ecology and is currently finishing a thesis for his Masters of Science in education at Cornell University. For the last few years he has worked summers for an adventure education program in the Virgin Islands where he teaches marine biology and sailing. He is working towards creating a career in marine based adventure education.

Zack Marks is the crew for Team Royal White. He hails from St. Petersburg, Florida and has been racing lasers for seven years. He has competed on the national and international level and was a member of US Sailing’s 2008 Youth Development Team. He is currently focused on his college sailing career and earning an economics degree at the University of South Florida. In his spare time he likes to windsurf and sail snipes, 470s, and 5o5s.
